Animals Well-being Technician (M/F/X)

Location: Aimargues, France - near Montpellier (Occitanie region), with easy access to the Mediterranean coast and major transport hubs.

The Animal Well-being Technician ensures the well-being of cats and dogs on site by promoting animal welfare across teams. They provide functional leadership by monitoring practices, identifying improvements, and encouraging the evolution of standards and behaviors. Working closely with site associates, they coordinate action plans, facilitate the sharing of best practices, and support teams in adopting welfare standards. Their expertise and influence help mobilize teams around the company’s values of quality, efficiency, mutuality, and responsibility, while also fostering employee skill development through training, guidance, and practical feedback.
What are we looking for?
ASV training, animal caregiver or equivalent
Strong knowledge in canine/feline ethology,
Proficiency in Word, Excel (pivot tables, charts), PowerPoint,
Technical English.
English: intermediate level
What will be your key responsibilities?
Defines the socialization program for puppies/kittens,
Responsible for monitoring growing or retired kittens,
Responsible for managing quarantine,
Oversees the implementation of the socialization program by specialists,
Responsible for behavioral assessment of the animals,
Responsible for action plans related to animal behavior analyses,
Responsible for kennel/cattery enrichment,
Organizes, leads, and participates in continuous improvement groups, projects, or exchanges (MOS),
Shares and presents information to the team,
Collaborates with the recruitment and adoption manager,
Provides functional management of canine/feline specialists within the Well-being division,
Coordinates the daily organization of the division, taking into account the needs of the DIGE/RSS and Palatability measurement divisions,
Responsible for Well-being indicators,
Responsible for zootechnical monitoring of panels,
Responsible for training and maintaining the skills of canine and feline specialists (new associates and/or authorized associates),
Monitoring and updating quality documents,
Ensuring the calibration of our measurement devices,
Supporting specific protocols in collaboration with the protocol officer.
Collaborating and exchanging knowledge with different Mars Pet-centers to share technical expertise,
Promoting our vision, the 5 principles, our values, and unique culture,
Ensuring safe work practices by following job instructions, guidelines, and reporting any safety observations,
Contributing to environmental policy compliance (waste sorting, energy consumption),
Participating in activities related to internal and external communication (visits, commercial workshops, BCS workshops, etc.).
