To support Royal Canin to become a Health through Nutrition Company, R&D team has an ambition: Step change the longevity and quality of life of cats and dogs by offering personalized, proactive, predictive and participatory health through nutrition solutions.
Supporting the Global innovation Strategy, the role is investigating and seizing potential new comanufacturers to expand the technology catalogue in line with the trends and consumer need. The role will also be the RC R&D interface for the comanufacturers during QuEST projects, contributing the design and validation of innovative nutritional solutions by ensuring technical feasibility and compliance to Product Design specifications.

- More than 5 years experience in rpocess or product development or industrialization in pet food industry

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Identify the future technologies or catalogue expansion required
- Understand the pain points and needs for the future (for pets, PO, prescribers, users)
- Following market technical trends and technological Innovations
- Gather technical experts to identify best technological options (within existing technologies on the market) to answer those pain points and needs
- Define with the Research department and the Solution Designers which future technologies externally manufactured will need to be developed to support the Inno strategy
- He/she is communicating the needs and briefs to EM strategic sourcing, ensuring they are engaged into projects
- R&D lead to the expansion of the technology catalogue
- Manages the technical Exploration TRL projects, in collaboration with the other members of the EM community (Supply, Q&FS, Regulatory, Commercial):
- Defining the project Scope, the Critical Success Factors and Targets to ensure the capabilities of the prospected EM are thoroughly evaluated
- Driving the project technical risk assessment (TRA)
- Coordinate technical execution as planned with the external partner
- Communicating recommendations and presenting results to Gate Keepers
- Prepare the project closure and the EM Texture Catalogue, in collaboration with EM supply, ensuring technology feasibility and constraints are clear for future Develop projects.
- Consolidate the outcome into the EM Technology and pack Development plan, so that these technologies can be investigated within Design and Quest
- R&D interface for the comanufacturers during QuEST projects, contributing to the design and validation of innovative nutritional solutions
- Share with the Solution Designers and the Demand teams the EM catalogue and promotes relevant technologies to concepts, fuelling the Innovation pipeline and NPRs
- Translates projects into coman product briefs and Technical specifications (KQA and others)
- Key Input role for the TRA (Technical risk assessment of the project)
- Manage all prototyping phases (Kitchen, pilot trials, and EM Indus trials)
- In post-DB phase, the role should be the Technical Project leader of QUEST executed at coman
- Active member of the EM community (Q&FS, Commercial, Supply)
- Represents R&D overall when collaborating with external partners, bringing broad technical and scientific expertise
- He/she is closely following the outcome of the external partner search, participates in kick-off meetings and technical visits, collaborates with EM community to recommend, or refuse, potential external partners
- Works In collaboration with Q&FS for quality Issues related to product design
- Key participating role In the elaboration of the External Manufacturing strategy, with yearly presentations In GTLT
