North America Electrical and Controls Engineers - Remote

The NA Electrical and Controls (E&C) Engineer will be a member of the Royal Canin North American Engineering Project Team that is directing the execution of capital engineering projects at the 6 factories within the Region.
This role supports the global development and deployment strategy for Controls & Electrical by providing engineering and technical expertise in electrical and automation systems across the Americas.
The E&C Engineer is responsible for alignment with the Global C&E Technical Leader for design aspects on projects and coordination with the Global Engineering Projects Manager on execution elements.
It requires the ability to work across multiple sites and cover all aspects of electrical, instrumentation, and automation control for batching, continuous processing, and packaging systems.

What are we looking for?
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics EngineeringOR background in electrical and controls, paired with relevant project management experience may be considered
- 5 + years of experience in the engineering function
- Up to 50% travel
Preferred:
- Masters Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Experience within the Food industry
- Experienced in managing and building effective project teams made up of cross functional team members
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Deploy a culture that values the safety of Associates, Contractors, Visitors, etc.
- Assist in the completion of multi-phase PRP reviews throughout the projects.
- Assist in managing onsite construction to ensure a safe workplace.
- Ensure that the elements of C&E design, specification review, statement of work production, analysis of proposals, and vendor selection are accomplished with the objectives for Safety, Security, Q&FS, Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Hand-Over in consideration.
- Provide input into the project development process in terms of technical feasibility, innovative ideas, scope definition, schedule construction, and budgetary reviews for electrical and automation systems.
- Support capital projects through peer reviews and technical support to ensure projects have proper controls support, plans, and documentation for C&E.
- Provide project management for electrical and automation projects ensuring proper delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and cash flow.
- Assist Project Engineers in managing external electrical and controls design companies in the design phase, then managing trade contractors during the construction phase.
- Assist the Global Technology Leader in clarifying design needs as applied to the standards.
- Manage and support the execution on the Pre-work, Checkout, Commissioning, Validation, and Startup for the C&E aspects.
- Communicate project-related activities to the NA Global Engineering Project Manager, Plant Management Team, Contractors, and Partners.
- Complete the construction of periodic and quarterly reports for communication at RC Global and Pet Care levels as assigned by the NA Global Engineering Project Manager.
- Lead with other NA E&C Engineers the building of capability for site E&C engineers, leading the E&C community of practice and understanding site controls improvement opportunities.
